Celia Anderson Dedicates 2nd Novel to E Lynn Harris
After spending six years at the feet of E. Lynn Harris,Celia Anderson has dedicated her new novel to her former teacher, mentor, friend, and best-selling author.
"I never imagined taking this journey without him," says the young author, who became Harris' first student to publish a novel in January 2009, "It was my time spent with him, that gave me the confidence to write. He allowed me the opportunity to learn from the best." Celia recalls the authors she meet through E. Lynn whom she says taught her valuble lessons. "The ones that stick out the most for me are Victoria Christopher Murray, from her I learned perfection. She taught me to take pride in my work, read every single novel a hundred times before passing it on. Mary Morrison, taught me to relax and have fun, she also proved to me that being a single mom couldn't stop me from doing anything. Janis Kearney continues to prove to the world that it doesn't matter where you are from, you can achieve great things."
Celia took all of these lessons to heart wowing young readers with her debut novel Love, Ocean. When asked why she chose to dedicate her newest novel to E. Lynn, she says it's simple, "He taught me my most important lessons, first to trust my own voice--be the first me and second to help others along the way." Last year Celia traveled to over thirty schools throughout the US motivating students. To learn more visit her website www.celiaanderson.com.
